Hope you're all doing well. I've been an Arlo user for a while now, with 7 cameras and the new 2k doorbell in my setup. My goal was to streamline everything under Arlo, given how much I trust the brand. But after this recent software update, I've run into a few challenges that are really big problems that need to be addressed

I've been around the block on the internet, and I've seen others on Reddit and even here expressing similar concerns. Here's what's been on my mind:

  1. Camera Control: The previous version had a dedicated screen for arming and disarming, making it quick and user-friendly. The new UI, with its 'Arm Away,' 'Disarm,' and 'Stand By' seems good outside of realworld applications but it is not practical for having full control over the cameras; especially for individual camera control

  2. Status Overview: You can not see the status of all cameras at one time, which is not just inconvenient but a safety concern.

  3. Camera Access & Playback: Following Arlo's suggestion, I've toggled devices on and off. The downside? Not being able to see live video playback when it's off, and having to navigate each camera separately to turn them on/off, especially with my larger setup, it is very inefficient

There are other minor issues, but these stand out. Anyone else here facing the same? And if someone has found a way to revert to the previous version or has workarounds while Arlo possibly addresses these, please share.

Appreciate the support and looking forward to improvements!

The fact that you dont tell people that upgrade the software they will loose major functionality, and the people that dont upgrade still keep all the old functions is hugely dishonest.

100% agree with this. It is completely unscrupulous. I have gone from paying $150 NZD per year using two base stations at the same property, to having to pay $300 NZD. This is the only way to achieve some level of feature parity to what I had before.

I contacted support complaining about this, and all they offered me was some 6 months reprieve for my next billing cycle. But then said it would expire before my contract renewed and I would have to contact them again about it in order to use it...

I mean, what the actual f***

I used to love Arlo and now I literally hate them and can't wait to move off their platform. I hope they go bust.

Right on - terrible update - don’t understand what ARLO was thinking- made it complicated- not user friendly at all - I want to go back to the old version!

I have at least 10 cameras-

So difficult to schedule anything now. Burning through my batteries, cause the cameras are always on. Guess I’ll just have to find someone else who has cameras that I can figure out and dump mine on eBay after having them for 8 to 10 years. Thanks Arlo you really screwed this one up.  Way to go.

Can you give us more details on the schedule you want?

I agree!! I used to rant and rave about arlo and recommend it to everyone. Since making this post last year, I have done the exact opposite. Almost a year and nothing has been done to resolve any issues. It is mind blowing. It seems like Arlo just ignores its customers, there is no way they are not aware of the issues by now. I still do not have geofencing and have spent over 30 hours trying to resolve my issues with support. They don't even know how to fix their own problems. Just very upsetting that they ruined a good thing

Just updated, I was forced to, to add new cameras.  I'm not sure who is doing these apps, but it is definitely not a human being.  I have gone thru alot of these forums and connot for the life of me figure out how to set schedules for the cameras.  Even arlo's answers to these questions make little to no sense.  Please arlo, don't try to answer with AI, do better.  I am now wasting my time trying to figure out how to set camera scedules while ALL my office cameras are going off!  Not good.

Now that Arlo arbitrarily de-activated my Arlo Pro 2 camera that has never been on a subscription (I have no option in the App or online to turn it on or activate it) I am replacing all of my Arlo cameras with a competitor's brand.  I have no trust in the company anymore.

Yes, as soon as that would happen to me, I’m ditching all my Arlo cameras too. Arlo clearly has absolutely no respect for their customers and concerns. They pigheadedly do what they want!

This appears to be a bug, not deliberate.  Arlo says they are investigating.

How do I quickly change one of 4 cameras from on full time to on from 10pm to 8am? I cannot find it at all. It appears to control all cameras but not individually. I do not have hours to read a bunch of complicated named instruction.

I can turn a camera on at a certain time, but only that one camera or all. However, there is not an ability to turn that camera off before it comes back on the next day (however it will already be on). Additionally, of the 4 cameras, I can only set ONE to the on at 8pm setting, not 3 of the 4 like I used to have. I do not want all cameras on all the time, only one camera, as they will run the batteries dry way too quickly, and alert my device constantly. How is this done? I have followed directions, and it is not able to be done so.

@ThisnewArloSukz - The three modes do control all the cameras. What you can do is set "Arm Away" to arm all of them, and then set "Arm Home" to arm all except the one you want turned off at night. Note that if a camera does NOT have a rule in the mode, then that camera is disarmed when that mode is in use. This article is something you should read through: https://kb.arlo.com/000062777/About-Arlo-Routines-Modes-Rules-and-Automations

I have now cancelled my Arlo subscription, and will bin the cameras , wouldn’t even want to on sell them to anybody else, because this company has turned into a dishonest pile of sh#t.

Maybe arlo should rename the new app to “Arlo Insecure App”, would be more descriptive.

Or 'Arlo Dishonesty App', for when you're enticed to switch over, you are not *at all* informed about a number of changes that will affect you, for example, access to local storage being more difficult to access, or that you'll require another subscription if you have more than one system. I'm disgusted at this company's dishonest approach to, and as a result, disregard for, the customer.

Just piling on.  Just upgraded and cannot find my camera.  Interface is anything but intuitive.  Someone should be fire.  This is not an alarm I arm... it's a camera I turn on and off as needed.  please give me back the old platform.
