Can we please put together lists of items which we the users, see as needing to be fixed.  I'll start it off by adding bullet points of the items which are both deal-breakers and more minor annoyances.

I've read through many of the other issues you all are having, but I don't want to misrepresent the issues by trying to explain your situation, so please contribute by adding them.

Thanks

• Custom modes need to be re-implemented (Deal Breaker)
• Still forcing logoff on browser after 1/2 hour (Deal Breaker)
⁃ logoff is no longer clear. It looks as if still logged in, but nothing updates or works until you reload site.
• Still forcing re-authentication of browser every two weeks (Deal Breaker)
• Icons on camera screens are no longer hover-able, so can't see % of battery unless you go into each camera individually
• Feed screen on browser and large mobile (ie iPad) displays tiny thumbnails (even when set to large), wastes huge amount of whitespace and forces endless scrolling by showing only one recording per line - This seems to be a result of a one-size-fits-all development strategy (which never works). (Deal Breaker)
• Why is there an icon on the camera screens showing that I have USB drive connected to my Mac, when it is not connected in any way to the Arlo?
• 'Favorite' has been stripped of accessibility and purpose, so either lose it completely or restore its ability to prevent that recording from being deleted.

I am feeling such a list will be growing big like a monster 🤣.  Also, different people may see different issues as different priorities.  shall we:

  • put the issue list to some online like google sheet ?
  • have some form of averaged priority as voted by contributors?

Correct. Those are mine.  What are yours?  If people will list them in this post, maybe the mods can bring this to the team and they'll actually address the issues.  I'm not holding my breath as I've seen nothing from them over the years, but I felt it was worth a shot.

I'll likely be selling my place and moving in the next year or so, and at this point, there is no way I would ever buy Arlo again, but, if they can prove that they're actually listening, and if they can demonstrate that they can hire knowledgeable designers and developers, they might be able to retain their customers.

I'm trying to make this a one-stop list of everything that we current customers need addressed.  Please, add your items.

I think this list should have been internally created by Arlo. I don't think they have such a list.

When you define your list, you have to be mindful of what's not working and what's a wish.

Final remark: everyone on here is fed up with the number of issues this system has. Look at the Pro 5 topic of missed events, for example - it's been going on for months. Just like a number of other issues.

Listening is an ability that this company lacks.

I agree that they should have a list, and I'm 100% sure they do.  I'm not convinced that their lists cover our concerns and requirements.

Which is why I listed those items that are a deal-breaker to me.  Others should provide their lists so the moderators can have a cleaner, simple list of the major issues.  There are a ton of 'problems' posted here, and I have no doubt that the mods consolidate those as best as they can, but we can help, or we can just complain.

My honest opinion is that they're hearing us, but don't care, and think they simply know better.  They expect us to quiet down after a while and they'll continue to rest on the laurels earned when they were owned/run by netgear.

I am more than willing to colaborate this list --- together.  It should not be just my list and my priorities.

Say for your list:

None of above is deal breaker to me.  Some are nice-to-have fixes to me (say the "waste of whitespace" one).

Say, do you not have geofencing as a deal breaker issue?

On the other hand, I'd rather see ARLO spending more time on fixing/sorting out sharing same account to multiple users, vs "sharing access" by main account to other user accounts.

That's why I'd prefer to see an issues list, which is representing at least active users here.  Multiple "my show stopper list" won't even help ARLO, in my opinion.

I keep forgetting that most people can't think outside of their own little sphere of existence.  Instead of endlessly commenting on why this can't work and that I didn't cover your issues, just add your own list.  Is it really that difficult to understand?  Never mind.  I'll refer back to my initial comment.

P.S.

I realize that I responded to Alex with Edinburgh_lad's comments, but everything I wrote still stands.

Have a good night.

Lack of Custom modes is a DEAL BREAKER!!

More intuitive scheduling would be ideal as well.

The best &, I assume easiest, fix, upgrade the upgraded app back to the original please.

Can't agree more!  I just need at least 1 more mode to make things right.  Now I have to manually makes changes to my settings, every time when I am away for holidays.  (well, at least I am not on holidays every week 😅)

We’ve heard your feedback, and the development team is working hard to deliver a similar custom modes experience that legacy users have come to enjoy while maintaining all the new improvements and features included in the latest version of the Arlo Secure App. We will keep the community up to date as we approach the release of this highly anticipated feature.

Thank you all for your continued feedback in helping make the Arlo experience the best it can be!

You guys don't even pretend to be unique or give a valid answer.  I understand that you may not have a choice, as these cookie-cutter responses may be mandated by your management, but that again shows the company's lack of genuine concern for its customers.

I hope you and the teams behind the scene realize that it's not just the custom modes, it's the entire new interface that's a CF.  I use the app on my phone maybe 1% of the time; on my computer ~90%; on my ipad ~9%.

It's obvious that the developers are writing for the phone, then simply porting the code to the other platforms, which is making the issues on those devices even worse.  I honestly can't imagine that anything is actually going to be fixed or improved.

Your canned responses state: "...maintaining all the new improvements and features included in the latest version of the Arlo Secure App."

I have to be honest, I haven't seen even one single improvement.  I'm not sure what I should be seeing, but nothing is better.

I simply didn't bother to write such response, but thanks for writing this for me 😁

Custom modes is indeed a deal breaker.

Another for the list is:

  • Notifications need to be configurable - enable/disable by event type
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Arlo Wire-Free, Pro, Pro 2, Go, Q, Q Plus, Baby - You will continue to have access to free 7-day storage even if they enter the EOL stage.
