The cameras only record at the time the routine is set for. example. 10:30 pm, all 4 cameras record 10 seconds. That is it.
They are doing that because that is exactly what your automations actions are telling them to do.
You DON'T want the automations to "record a video". You DO want the automations to switch to a different mode.
When you do want your cameras to arm and disarm?

If you can live view the cameras and manually make a recording that shows up in your feed then the cameras are working.
Can’t say that about the new app interface unfortunately.

I an make manual recordings, the system will not record due to motion based on a routine.

Like "Library", the cameras are armed or disarmed via the modes. You choose the mode from the Dashboard screen (and the current mode is shown in color).
Did you check "Arm Away" and "Arm Home" to make sure there are rules for the problem cameras? Also go into the video settings, and look at the "Default Mode" settings. The motion threshold is set there (and might have been set too low when you were switched to "Feed").

There is no "Library" in the new software.
The mode should change based on the routines setting.
All set to Arm Home, Motion Detection -On. Record a Video - On.

I need instructions to get my cameras to record based on motion during set times.

Start with this and the links in it:
https://kb.arlo.com/000062777/About-Arlo-Routines-Modes-Rules-and-Automations
Default Mode settings are found in each camera's settings under Default Mode Settings. To set up a schedule, use the "+" at the top right and choose to create a schedule. You will need one at a certain time to change the mode as desired and then another schedule at a different time to change again, as appropriate. Generally, one schedule at, say, 10PM will change to Arm Away and then the other at 6AM will change to Arm Home. Each mode should only have the cameras actually in use so Arm Away would likely have all cameras but Arm Home would have only certain ones with rules. Any camera without a rule is disarmed.

That worked.
That was not very intuitive.
The old way was much easier.
This doesnt make much sense.

I agree that the new automations are too hard and not intuitive.
