Hey.
I have two Arlo hubs on two different locations with several cameras connected to each hub.
I am using geofencing to control arming and disarming. This works great for me on both locations.
I invited my wife to create an account and granted her access to all cameras. She has Administrator rights according to the app (see attached image).
”Har administratörsrättigheter” = Has admin rights.
I looked this up on the Arlo guides before adding her, just to make sure I was covering everything to make it work correctly.
Also, when I look in the settings for Geofencing, her phone is activated for both zones.
But, whenever I leave a zone and her phone is still there, the system still armes all devices. It’s the same on both locations. It only reacts on my phone beeing in or out of the zones.
I have checked all settings on her iPhone according to this: https://kb.arlo.com/000062825/Why-isn-t-my-Arrive-Leave-Automation-working
It’s all as it should be.

A possibility is that your wife's app has been logged out, either manually or by lack of use. I had the same issue which turned out that my wife simply didn't use the app for long periods of time so got logged out. I put a reminder in her calendar to open the app once a week to prevent this from happening.

Thanks for the reply!
I have made sure she is not logged out when testing this. I recently set everything up so this is not the cause of the problem.
I did notice that she has no edit button on the geofencing mode. It just feels that she has no rights to change modes or something. See image attached here.
This screenshot was made when I had activated my ”god natt” mode so that had nothing to do with it 🙂

Your screenshot seems to show the old user interface (UI) that uses Library to view recordings - is that correct? If so, here's a link that tells you what a guest account can access:
Rebooting her phone and reinstalling the app may help. Ensure that her phone settings for the app is to always enable location services.

My wife has the exact app and version that I have. Didnt know that this was ”the old UI”. Using the Arlo Secure app v. 4.11.2 that is from 17 jan 2024.
Yes we have reinstalled the app twice now and I have triple checked that the app always has access to her location.
She’s a little bit annoyed at his point in me checking her phone about this all the time 😆

Let's have you and your wife both update to the new user interface and see if that changes the behavior. Before updating remove your wife from the authorized user and add her back after the update is completed. Add a Pro 5 camera (even if you do not have one). Once you enter the onboarding flow for one of these products, you will be prompted to update the app to the new UI experience. After completing the upgrade, you can then leave the onboarding flow and share devices with your wife.

Wow, that was a whole new experience… Now I’m so confused on how to set everything up since I have two locations. It was so much easier in the old interface 😆

Thank you for the help, I have now updated both mine and my wifes apps and added her again. Time will tell if it works 😊
Question: how do I add more modes? I used to be able to make custom modes… like if I want to arm specific cameras when I go to bed, I could do this manually before. Now it seems that I can only setup schedules if I want to arm the cameras at night?

You will set up automations. Here is a link on how to set those up and how they work.

Sorry one more thing, when I arm my cameras at night and only want certain ones you can do it under the different modes. I have most mine in standby but set up rules for the different cameras that I wanted to record throughout the day. So that is an option as well if you want certain cameras to record only at night.

Thank you for all info 🙏🏻😊
In the older UI, I could create modes for each of my Hubs, manually arming some cameras whenever I wanted to. This feature seems to be removed.
I want to be able to arm some cameras when I am at location 1 and other cameras when I am at location 2.
I dont want to automate this, or schedule it. I want to manually be able to arm some cameras depending on location. Meaning I need more modes…?

Nevermind my last post, I figured out that I had to add another location 😆
Thanks for all the help.
The only negative thing now is that it seems that I will have to pay for each location, in previous UI all my cameras was under one subscription… now I got to have two.

That is correct, if you have multiple locations and want the benefits of the subscription on both locations it needs two subscriptions.

Inflation 😆
But again, thanks for the help!
I’ll report back soon if this was the solution or not 😊

I’m trying to figure out if the problem for the Arlo system is that my wife previously had an older phone registered in the system and maybe thats why it wont react on her leaving and arriving at the locations.
I logged in on her acoount and removed the old phone, but it still showd up in this view, where I select which devices the system should react to.
I also removed my iPad from the system but that, also, still shows up. I have removed the app on both our phones once again and reinstalled them but they still show up. Any suggestions?

If you still have the old devices you can delete them from the privacy center. However, if you do not still have the devices they can not be erased. Support should be able to help you get these devices off, please contact support. Within the app on your mobile device click on the silhouette on the top left ~ support center ~ the device that you are needing assistance with then choose the issue.

Thank you so much for that reply! I finally found where to delete the other devices, now I’m certain that the right devices are the onces reporting and activating the systems via geofencing.
