latest firmware on arlo q.

camera is detecting movement just fine. i get notifications. the library thumbnail shows me an image of a person passing by the camera. when playing back the video i can hear the person walking past the camera but i only see a static image without the person walking past the camera.

for example, i opened the door the camera is pointing at, walked through the door, closed the door and walked past the camera. on the video i only see a closed door yet can hear the sound of me opening and closing the door and walking past the camera.

one door is about 20ft from the camera and one is 10ft from the camera.

thanks in advance for ideas!

fadersnstuff,

It sounds like this could be an issue with the video player you are using on your device.

What client are you using to view the video (web client, iOS/Android mobile app)?

Do you see the same behavior if you try viewing the video on a different client?

Hi JamesC,

The problem occurs with the iOS app and if I log in using a MacBook Pro using safari.

fadersnstuff,

Do you experience any issues live streaming? If you manually record a live stream, does the video produced behave the same way as a motion detection event?

No issues with live streaming.
I did what I should have probably done a lot sooner and hard power the cameras. All seems well for now...

Thank you for being interested though!

I've experienced the same problem. Motion detected, sent alert, recorded video with sound but a frozen image.

Power cycling corrected it. Seems to be the answer to most issues. Why?

Is it the device itself or the cloud service?

Likely the device itself.
