Grant access to device temporarily

Before all these updates at one time I could untick a friend from a device and save, which means they are offline temporarily, then when I want to grant access back to the device I could tick and save then the friend is back to view device, now arlo support are pretty useless as they kept telling me only way I can untick and tick the friend from the device is to allow access rights and save ? (Don’t think so) So my question is how to temporarily untick the friend from the device, without deleting the friend or granting access rights, like I said before the updates you could tick and untick and save (job Done)

Yep I have iPhone 11 Pro using iOS 14.2, but the question regarding unticking device from friend and saving hasn’t really work since last year
