Just set up the Q. I have one wireless cam and one Q. The wireless live has a quick motion on and live feedback. The Q however has some serious lag. I would say 2-5 seconds while viewing on my phone. The router is in the same room as the cam with in 10 ft. Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it? By the time I would be viewing someone in my house they would have already made there way around with being visible. I'm

All the cameras will have some form of lag compared to real time....

Remember the data from the camera has to travel from your end to the netgear servers and then back to you for playback/viewing.

1-2 sec lag is about the best you'll get

I recently purchased two Arlo Q's.  I noticed only about 1 second lag while viewing live stream on my Iphone6 while my  5 year old Ipad running the Arlo app viewed side by side has 15 seconds lag. This is unfortunate since I was going to use he Ipad as a dedicated baby monitor.  Interesting that lag issues could be hardware related.  Has anyone else experienced hardware lag  issues with the Arlo App?

While I can't specifically address this, it may be interesting to load a CPU monitor app on both devices to see what the load looks like.  If the iPad has a hammered CPU during that lag, it's a hardware/software issue that only newer, faster hardware will fix.

I've seen more lag with my older phone vs the newer ... major change was the processor.

I'd also consider what apps are running in the background on the devices.

I actually just got a S7 active and the lag seems to be even worse.  Pushing like 5+ seconds. I dont know what is going on with this thing. Pretty dissapointed with it considering the price. I know this is all over the forums too.  So we are talking live lag from server to my phone, however the record time will still pick up a few seconds prior to the live lag right? I havent tested it yet from the Q.  I know the wireless cam works pretty good.

Lag for the play back if a bit different from the lag in startup record.

In play back: the video feed is requested from you to  the servers, back to your device, and then depending on how fast the device is, playback

In startup record delay;  the trigger event happens, the the base signals the cam ( from sleep mode ) to record and the vid feed goes from cam to base to server. The delay here is more the base waking up the cam to start record... I see about 2 sec lag to starup, some see more, a few see alot... server/data rate/interference/etc all play a part.
