With the Arlo Pro 4 Camera system with base station, do you HAVE to subscribe monthly in order to use the cameras, the app to view live and recorded footage, if using a 2TB hardrive via local USB to Base station?

If so, what features do you LOSE without a subscription besides having the footage backed up on a secondary location?

With the Basic level, ( free ) , you can have up to 5 cameras total ( any mix of Arlo, arlo Pro, Q ).

The PRO base supports the local usb drive up to 2 TB in a fat32 format.  This feature is included in the basic service.

What you realy loose by not taking a higher level is the storage DAYS and NUMBER of Cameras...

Higher levels store vids for 30 days/ up to 10 cams, 60 days/up to 15 cams and there is also an pay CVR option on the Q cam ( 24/7 record ).
