Can the camera be used behind a window facing to the side of an entrance. I have an 8 foot wide window above the front entry that would allow an indoor site out of the weather.

No, the Pro cameras use PIR detection ans glaas blocks most of the IR needed to sense motion.

You would maybe be better off with a Q cam OR a Pro2 that is plugged into ac ( as they see thru glass using pixel change detection )
