I have had 4 cameras for the last 6 months that have worked great. I only have to charge the batteries about every 2 months. Now one of my cameras, the second that I unplug it from the charger, I will get an alert that the battery life is at 0 percent. Is this a bad battery?

Could be but try power cycling the base and reinsert the battery. If still no good, try removing the camera from Settings, My Devices and resync. If still no good, swap batteries around to see if the problem is the battery or the camera.
