I have 2 Apple Airport Extreme WAP's that are hard wired to the Internet router. Does a camera need to be within range of the base station itself or can it be just in range of the WAP? If it must be within range of a base station, can I add a separate base station that is within range and hard wired to the Internet router? Would the second base station require a separate account and login?
Could an extender solve this problem and if so, can you recommend a product(s)?

An extender can on!y be used to position the base centrally to all your cameras. The WiFi between the base and cameras can't be extended so the base has to be in a location that provides adequate strength. A second base could be added to allow a wider spread of coverage overall.
