Good morning everyone.. I have an Arlo Essential XL camera, a BASE STATION VMB4540, and a subscription
Arlo Secure Single Camera - Annual
... I would like to buy a second ARLO 5 camera compatible with the Base Station. Will I have to make another subscription or what I have is enough to see the notifications and videos..

Un consiglio per una seconda telecamera SENZA ABBONAMENTO?
Una ARLO PRO 2 potrebbe andare bene?
It is the most recent camera that doesn't require a subscription for cloud storage.
They are on the end-of-life list (scheduled for 1 January 2025). They should still work after that, but Arlo isn't committing to keeping them operational.
Arlo stopped making them 5 years ago, so you would either be purchasing very old inventory or getting a used camera. Arlo is starting to drop accessories in their store for them, so you might need to purchase third-party accessories (batteries, solar panels, etc).

Grazie anticipatamente per le risposte.
You could use local storage instead of a subscription. IMO, not a great user experience, but many people do that.
Limitations include:
- recordings only available in the app (not the web browser)
- recordings only available from the primary account (not "friend" accounts)
- No thumbnails - everything needs to be be downloaded to the phone to view.
- No ability to make manual recordings or take snapshots.
- remote access requires router setting changes that many find difficult (and don't work with some internet service providers)
You'd lose other subscription features for that camera of course - including smart notifications and activity zones.
