Can I lock in a zoom setting on my pro 4 camera or do I have to zoom in every time I view the picture?

You can change the pan & zoom in the camera settings, and that should stick.

Thanks for the reply StevenB, but all I see is under video settings, "Auto zoom and Tracking" which doesn't apply to stationary objects. or under device settings, setting up "Activity Zones" which is only for activating recording. Don't see anything for Pan or Zoom settings.

Can't you zoom the image on the activity zone image by spreading your fingers on the image? That should stick if you do that.
