I have a VMB4540 and Arlo Pro XL cameras.

Does the Smathub VHM4540 have storage capability on it's own without the cloud?  If so, for how long?

Local recording is done via a USB drive, preferably a thumb drive (for ease). Once set up in your hub's settings, all motion recordings will go there as well as to the cloud. The cloud recordings require a subscription so without that you have only local recordings. I'd suggest setting up local recordings and use that for a while before deciding what to do next since it's not the same as having the cloud recordings.

The local recordings are never deleted unless you have automatic overwrite enabled as the drive fills. Ejecting the drive and saving the recordings on a computer or networked drive allows you to never fill the drive so overwriting is not an issue.

Thank you for the information.

Unfortunately, I never set up my local recording storage on the hub.

By chance, do you know if Arlo is storing my video in their cloud even if I
don't have a subscription.  And, if they do, if I were to subscribe could I, then, get access to my historical video.

Thank you
