I’ve got an older arlo system that is not on a subscription with a home base that works great. My father recently got an arlo pro 4 system with a base and shared the system with me. I get the notifications but can’t see any of the devices or activity. How can I review the activity on his system?

Do you use

  • custom modes
  • scheduling or
  • geofencing

If you do, then you need to be aware that

  1. "Feed" has only three modes for the account - Arm Away, Arm Home, and Standby.  All can be modified, but you cannot add more.  Arlo has said they are adding back custom modes (or something equivalent), but they haven't said which.
  2. Scheduling works (as long as you don't need more than three modes).  However, it is set up differently.
  3. Geofencing's "arrive" can only put the system into a fixed mode (that you select).  If you combine geofencing with scheduling, then you will sometimes have to manually set the mode when you return, since geofencing won't instantly apply your schedule.  Some are finding that geofencing doesn't reliably trigger for them.

Go into "add device" and start to add a Pro 5s camera.  While you can't complete that without having the camera, the workflow will migrate you to "Feed" before you get stuck.

Does your app show "Library" in the app menu?  Or does it show "Feed" and "Dashboard" instead?

Your father's account likely shows "Feed" (all new accounts do).  If he sees "Feed" and you see "Library", then you'll need to migrate to "Feed".

If that is the issue, post back as there are reasons why you might not want to migrate to "Feed".

Yeah I see library. How do I migrate and will it cause any issues for my system?
