Hello, I’ve had the Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight for a few years now with zero issues. I just recently took the camera down to charge it and remove the solar panel. But now when I reinstalled it, it will not activate with motion and turn the camera on. Nor will it record.
I can go into the app and function the light and look through the camera. It’s also hooked to my home storage the past few years. Thanks for any help

Hey Stephen, I finally got it. Had to factory reset my Home Base Station. Then re-add my devices. Now my floodlight shows up along side of doorbell under the armed mode.
Thank you for all your advice & help

Have you tried the motion detection test?
If you see "Library" in your app menu, then this guide has the steps:
If you see "Feed" and "Dashboard" instead, then use this one:

Hello Stephen, I’ve tried all those things. I only have the doorbell and the floodlight. When I go to arm the devices it only shows the doorbell

Do you see "Library" in the app menu? Or do you see "Feed" and "Dashboard"?

Ok.
I am thinking that you do not have a hub. If that is the case - When you go to the "modes" page, are you seeing both the doorbell and the floodlight?

When I hit the mode button it shows arm all devices and disarmed on top then it says My devices with my home hub listed under it. When I hit Arm all it only arms the doorbell because under the armed mode motion on doorbell is the only one mentioned. But I’m not sure what happened because I’ve never had this issue before

So the floodlight is connected to your hub, and not your home wifi?

I figure it has to be connected to the wifi when I do the new device hook up process. Wouldn’t you think? Plus I can function it with my phone. Unless it’s acting like a Bluetooth apparatus ? How do I do a hard reset on the floodlight? Because I remove device to try again and again and the same settings that I previously programmed are still on the app

It depends on how you set it up.
- Did you display a QR code on the phone, and then have the camera scan it?
- Or did you select the base station as part of the work flow when you added the camera?
Can you post a screen shot of what you are seeing on the modes screen?

When I add a new device it says what are you adding, I’ve tried both camera and light selection and then it says a base station was detected and asks if I want to continue with the base station or without. I choose with the base station like I’ve done in the past.

You should be picking Cameras, Pro Series, and then Pro 3 Wire-Free Floodlight.
Then of course select the base station if you want to pair with that.

Yes I am. I have it added as a rule under the “Armed” mode. When the doorbell detects motion the floodlight also goes off now. But it sucks because without the doorbell the floodlight won’t work on its own.
Never had this problem before. I just can’t figure it out.

This sounds like you accidently set up a cross-trigger instead of an independent rule.
A cross-trigger is when you set up a one camera (e.g., the floodlight) to record when a different camera (e.g., the doorbell) detects motion.
So take another look at what you did in "armed". If you added a record action to the doorbell rule, then you did the wrong thing. Delete that action, and add an independent rule for the floodlight.

Thanks for all this help .
I did purposely add the floodlight to the doorbell because the doorbell is the only one listed under the armed mode . And I’ve tried adding a new mode for just the floodlight but it only lets you chose one mode at a time . If I chose this new one with the floodlight then the doorbell doesn’t work. And the floodlight doesn’t work either under this new model that’s created.
I’m just not sure what happened. Because I never had to mess around with any of this stuff before.

Add a new rule for fhe floodlight by pressing "add device rules" at the bottom of the list in Arm Away. Do the same with Arm Home.

Sorry, I assumed you were on "Feed". There should be a similar option for "Arm" though.
