If the advanced features are only available for indoor use and only when using power cord instead of battery powered, how does the system know it is indoors vs outdoors, even if I use a power cord for outsided?

One page said pro 2 offers continuous recording for free. Another page said pro 2, records 24/7 with upgrade. Which is correct? What upgrade? Subscription, free, or from version pro to pro 2?
