I’m thinking of adding a solar panel to my pro2, will this give me the option to CRV, or does it have to be plugged in to AC power?

For CVR you will need to have it plugged into the mains.
The solar panel is just trickle charger to keep the battery topped up.

Why couldn’t you use a large USB portable battery bank to plug in to the Arlo and a larger 9 volt solar panel at 2 amps For continuous video recording allowing CVR on the Arlo pro two? Would not that be an option?,

Theoretically, that would work as long as the battery support charging while in use (not all do). You'd have to try it to see if you get the "incompatible charger" message.
