I now have laptop (browser app) and base connected to the same physical network switch (an Eero wifi mesh leaf) on the same IP network (192.168.7.xxx). i have reset and started from the beginning many times. i am hung up trying to get the base recognized. my hope is that there might be a required port that my environment is not supporting.

Any Ideas?

PS. bandwidth and connectivity are rock solid. Ping time on Speedtest is 11ms.

All the ports Arlo uses, 80, 123 and 443, are outgoing ports. The system makes a request and gets a response due to the open session. Some setups block those outgoing ports and that's what can cause problems.

If there are issues here, you should see a bad internet status in the base LED(s).  So check that: https://kb.arlo.com/000039100/What-do-the-LEDs-on-my-Arlo-SmartHub-or-base-station-mean
