Latest version of Arlo Secure on a iPhone 13 Pro with the notch in the middle prevents anyone from selecting the Cloud or Local categories at the top. For whatever reason the resolution setting for the app in the feed settings is incorrect. These buttons are normally right above the most recent video thumbnail. They are currently at the top of the phone screen and are not selectable. Please forward over to developers to have this fixed on the next software update.
I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Arlo Secure app. iPhone is running iOS 26.5.2

We are currently investigating the behavior you are seeing with the Cloud/Local storage. I will update the community as soon as possible.

Hello, I'm using an iPhone 17 Pro Max and when I try to view my feed of recorded videos, the Cloud and Local tabs up top aren't clickable. It's behind the time and wifi/battery info bar along with Apple's island thing. Is there a fix for this? I can not click on the Local tab. This is using the latest Arlo app version 6.38.0 released on July 22, 2026. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it also.
It's a bug, so nothing you can do to fix it. You can still see local recordings by selecting the base on the devices page and then navigating into storage settings.

I can’t select between cloud and local on the feed page in the Arlo app. I’ve tried everything to fix this. I even removed and reinstalled smart hub and cameras. Nothing works, please help.

It's a bug in the iphone app. You can still see local recordings by going to the devices page, selecting the smarthub, and then storage settings.

Lots of other reports of this bug. You can still access the local recordings by going into the smarthub settings and selecting storage settings.

I have the same issue. I Can't access cloud or local on the feed tab. They appear on the very top of screen by cut out and are unusable. Cloud automatically appears.I have a Iphone13 Pro Max. I have to tap on the devices tab, then tap on base station, then go to storage settings to view local . No problem with android devices.

I and four neighbors have the same issue.
We all tried reinstalling the app, using the storage settings menu ( the ability to view local feeds is removed from there as well), iOS pull down method and nothing works.
This is a way for Arlo to force a subscription. We four have decided to dump Arlo and go to better systems like Ring, SimplySafe or eufyCam.

iPhone 15 Pro Max. Latest Arlo app update moved the cloud and local buttons on my feed to an inaccessible location at the very top of the feed.
If this is an attempt to force customers to buy a cloud subscription, that’s extremely poor taste.

As a workaround there is an alternative path to access local recordings that still works. Go to the devices screen, look for your smarthub (not the camera's) press the settings wheel (right hand top of the base staion smarthub) and then select storage settings. You should get a list of your recordings there.

Subject:
iOS 26.6 – Cloud / Local selector inaccessible – still present in Arlo Secure 6.40.0
Message:
Same issue here – iPhone 17 Pro Max, iOS 26.6, Arlo Secure 6.40.0 (34112).
I can confirm that the problem is still present with Arlo Secure 6.40.0.
The Cloud / Local selector is displayed at the very top of the screen, inside or behind the iPhone status/Dynamic Island area. The buttons are visible, but cannot be selected by touch.
My cameras, VMB5000 SmartHub and local storage are working correctly. Recordings are being created. This is specifically a user-interface/touch issue in the iOS Arlo Secure app.
I have installed the latest Arlo Secure update and completely restarted my iPhone. The issue remains unchanged.
I have been experiencing this problem for approximately three weeks.
I have also seen that several other users are reporting exactly the same issue in the Arlo Community and that an Arlo Moderator has stated that Arlo is investigating the Cloud/Local storage behaviour.
As a paying Arlo Secure subscriber, I would appreciate an official update from Arlo. Has this issue now been reproduced by the development team, and is a fix planned for an upcoming iOS app release?
Thank you.

Hi everyone. iOS app updated today (Aug 10), but the inability to select Cloud or Local buttons on the user-interface still persists.
Yes, I've logged off and back in. Yes, I've deleted the app and reinstalled. Yes, I've gone to the Devices area and tried to view recordings from the Storage Settings the Base Station. None. Of. Those. Things. Worked.
It's been nearly 3 weeks since this issue started and Arlo's inability to provide any sort of salient update is very disappointing.
Please update the community with what's happening and when we might have a potential fix. Thank you!

What kind of nonsense are you pulling with IOS app? This massive design flaw hasn't been fixed for at least three updates now! You’ve placed buttons in an area that Apple’s design guidelines say shouldn't be used, and as a result, it's no longer possible to access local storage, because it‘s impossible to use the two buttons!
Are you all blind, or is Arlo's new strategy to force people to buy a subscription plan?

Arlo has now been working on this issue for almost two weeks. It really feels like Arlo is deliberately punishing customers who have cancelled their subscription and are using the free Arlo Hub with local storage.
It’s also incredibly frustrating that every time, cloud storage opens by default and you have to manually select local storage. And now the local storage option doesn’t even show up at all.
Nice attempt to force people into paying for an absolutely ridiculously expensive annual subscription. I think it might be time to replace these cameras…

This is not true as you can still see your local storage, by selecting the base on the devices page and then navigating into storage settings. The fix will be within the next few weeks.

Like most here we are very frustrated with actually not being able to see our recordings locally. Arlo wants to push their subscription services on the pop-up and that we cannot get past. There is no X. There is no way to bring it down, there’s no way to check our cameras so we are flying blind. THANK ARLO…

Same here , iPhone 16 Pro.
But honestly, Arlo, quality control HAS to catch something like that before it goes public. Was that perhaps even intentional, so that local users would give up and buy the subscription?

I have have the issues here in the UK on an iPhone 17 Max Pro AND a 2025 ipad PRO!!! Having made a serious mistake wasting money on a useless ARLO system on two properties, not realising that the ONLY way is to sign up for a RiPOFF monthly ARLO Cloud subscription, I have thrown even more good money after bad, purchasing TWO absolutely USELESS ARLO HUBS! Not that the HUBs are even worth bothering with, it has NOW STOPPED ME ACCESSING THE HUBS ALL TOGETHER. Thankfully I have now started a migration to E-U-F-Y and CAN actually see what is going on AND access recordings WiTHOUT a RiPOFF subscription LiKE the ARLO Subscription!!!
And I very soon had to migrate away from the ARLO DoorBell, BECAUSE the SERiOUS time lag between (ALL) ARLO devices and my apple and android devices meant us missing ALL IMPORTANT callers at both of our properties. No such issues with any of our ARLO competitors products. I think all traffic first goes via the ARLO servers and back to the customer, so it may not make ANY difference to upgrade any home network to higher speeds. Btw. BOTH of our properties have ultra fast fibre optic broadband connections!!!
