Will the camera come back to life if you plug it in external power?

I don't know how to do that, because this unit is powered by batteries and not AC.

Do you have a arlo supplied charger cable and adapter?
What is the camera model number, is it a VMC4030?

My camera is a VMC 3030. I bought my cameras and base station from Sams Club & didn't get a charger cable, except the one that plugs into the wall and is used with AC-powered cameras. This unit is battery powered (takes 4 lithium batteries).

Not sure where the confusion occurred but the camera model details indicate that you have an early version arlo wire free camera not a arlo pro or pro2 model that you originally started.
Have you tried using the arlo web portal on browser pc connected to the local network to add the camera?

When I visited this site: https://www.manua.ls/arlo/vmc3030/manual ... it indicated that the VMC3030 is the Arlo Pro 2. I wo... adding the camera via the Arlo website but that didn't work either. In troubleshooting this problem, what are the possible reasons that none of the lights on a camera would turn on?

The VMC3030 manual is below for reference.
https://www.arlo.com/en-us/images/documents/arlo_wirefree/arlo_wirefree_um.pdf
The camera add instruction article is below.

The reason for no led activity are
- one or more batteries are flat.
- the battery contacts are dirty or corroded.
- the camera is faulty.

That site is incorrect. The VMC4030p is the model number for the Pro 2. The VMC3030 is the original Arlo WireFree camera.
@Dannybear posted the correct manual link.

Success at last! It appears the problem was dead batteries, even though they were never-used Eveready batteries. So I bought new ones today, followed the steps you indicated & now the camera works perfectly. Thank you so much for your help!

The batteries may not have been dead. You could test them with a voltmeter - they should show ~3.2v. However, a common issue is that not all batteries are the same dimensions. A slightly larger one may get stuck down when pushed into the slot. Always lightly place them in their slots and let the battery door do the pushing.
