Hi all, I have the Arlo Pro 2 system Fhat I purchased from the US (I’m
In Australia) everything works perfectly except when I try plugging. The camera into power for the constant recording the lightning icon shows up for a couple of minutes then disappears and goes back to the regular battery icon. Has anybody else experienced this?

A couple of things here that might help.

Using the Solar Penel the battery on my Pro cameras show the lightning icon while charging and then revert to the regular battery icon when fully charged, so this might be normal behavior.

Secondly, if you are plugging the camera into an AC outlet to utilize all the features you won't need the battery in the camera.

Thanks Brian, they are showing 100% charge so that could be it. Would be interesting to hear from NETGEAR as when I spoke to live chat they said the lightning icon should be there at all times when plugged in. I’ll go take the battery’s out and see what happens.

Update-

With the battery out and usb plugged in it shows a symbol of a power plug. Happy to know it’s not my usb or power adaptersthat are faulty.

If the battery is installed and a charging supply (AC or solar) is present and supplying sufficient current, the charging icon (lightnin bolt) should be present. The difference would be a filled battery when fully charged vs. an empty one if not fully charged. The solar panel will only present the charging icon if the panel is getting enough light to create a charging current.

Interesting, I left the battery out and it showed the power plug icon the whole time (2-3 hours) then when I put the battery back in the lightning bolt showed for a few mins then disappeared again.

Interesting. I have two P2s, one on AC power and the other on a solar panel. Both show the icons properly. I did note an anomaly today using the Android app where the solar powered one showed full charge (black battery) but was at 47% and charging. A later check on the web showed the empty battery. Related?
