Arlo Pro 2 smart feature (activity zone) no working without battery?

I just added outdoor power to one of my Pro2 cams. I removed the battery so it won't overcharge but to my surprise the smart features were not available any more. Furthermore with it only connected to AC power I see the power status to be at 78% even when the battery was removed... Putting the battery back in ... all back to normal.

Is the battery really requiered for the smart features?

Hi @Philipp69

The battery is not required for smart features to be active. You will need to at least have the AC power attached though. When using your battery while plugged in, you do not need to worry about overcharging the battery.
