I have the Arlo Pro 2 base and cameras and the base went offline. After all the troubleshooting steps I did a factory reset on it. I was able to add the base to my account but when I went to sync the cameras it appears they are syncing but they are not added to my device list. I have read the forum and followed the steps: made sure batteries were fully charged, reset the base, unplugged and let it sit and plugged it back in, tried syncing it from the PC and app. I also turned off my VPN and verified my router broadcasts 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I have been at this for about 6 hours and cannot get the cameras to be added back. The system is less then 2 years old and my other base that has 5 cameras I bought back in 2018 and its running great. How can I get my cameras to sync to the base? I have 3 cameras that I am trying to sync. Thanks!

The only way i was able to fix this issue was to log out of my iPhone app, get an android device, i used a friend’s galaxy phone, installed the arlo app on it, log into your arlo account on the android device, on the android device i was able to install everything hassle free.
then, log out from the android device, log back into your iPhone device- and my camera and base station were all there like before….
it worked for me, and for several other people here.
obviously arlo dropped the ball on our “older” generation cameras, and while doing it- they messed up the apple devices that can’t recognize those devices anymore.
arlo=lousy company!

Did you try adding the cameras with an android product or Chromebook? In my experience these are no longer compatible with Apple products but you do need to download the app on the android device and try pairing them that way. Then once you get them paired try and log in with the Apple device and see if you can view them. I agree this has been frustrating they are considered end of life and we need to to buy new with a subscription.

I was having this same problem and stumbled across this thread today (2025-3-27). I managed to get my Pro 2 camera to reconnect to the base station (a Smarthub model), without switching to an Android device. At first I tried restarting the base station from the app, and it hung while indicating that it was doing a firmware update (which I had not initiated). After waiting a while, I powered the base station down and plugged it back in. I had also removed the battery from the camera for well over a minute. The connection was a little glitchy at first (after the initial moment it recognized the camera and I completed the setup in the app in my iPhone, blue lights were still blinking on both for a while longer, and I couldn't get the video feed to work during that time), but after waiting a little longer, it seems to be back to normal now. Perhaps Arlo has put out a patch on the back end that has now resolved the issue? (If so, Arlo should publicize this better to everyone who has Pro 2 cameras.) At any rate, there is definitely a hope you can get your cameras to work again!

Hello, I have an Arlo Pro 2 base with 4 wireless cameras. All 4 cameras all of a sudden show as offline. I confirmed other items using the Internet function correctly. I unplugged both the power and Ethernet cable from the hub for 30 seconds (all three bars are green and steady). I logged out of the system and still showing as offline. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Note camera batteries are charged and one camera plugged in to power.
Thanks!!

If the base station camera led is green then it indicates that the cameras are still connected to the base ok.
You should still be getting recording in the library or feed and getting alerts.
Many users have previously reported the issue but since arlo has ended support not much has been reported back unfortunately.
You could try leaving it a few days to see if it returns to normal.

If the cameras are not coming back online after you power-cycled the base station, did you try taking the batteries out of the cameras (for 10+ seconds) and re-inserting them? Or removing them from the app and then re-adding them by re-syncing?

Yes ive tried everything under the sun.
the only thing that worked, for me at least, was to install it back on a android device.
maybe by now they made a patch to fix this issue…🤷♂️

Same problem. After a reset of the cameras, the Arlo app can no longer find my two Pro2 cameras. The two Pro2s find the base station and also pair. They are also found in HomeKit. Even after deleting Arlo from HomeKit and adding it again. So the cameras are ok, the base too. The pairing works. Only the display of the cameras in the Arlo APP no longer takes place. In addition, local records are no longer possible. I hope Arlo gets the error in the app solved.

I am one of the unfortunate users of an Arlo Pro 2 having issues. I have had this system with 10 cameras, which worked perfectly, for many years. We bought another property and don’t need that many cameras at the other one, so I bought an identical Arlo base and moved four cameras to the new property. I immediately had issues getting the cameras to sync with the new base, but after repeated attempts, finally got two cameras added. They work fine. Still have two to go, but cannot get them to complete the sync process. The cameras are located immediately, but they will not finish the “rename device” process. Saw your reply to another user suggesting sycing directly between the camera and base. Did that with both cameras going from a slow blue flash to a rapid blue flash, so I’m assuming they are now synced, but when I open the app, they do not appear. Is there another step to complete this process? Thanks so much for any help you could provide.

@BuilderLady: I've had the app on my iPhone hang (sometimes) when I tried to rename the camera on the first time re-adding the camera back to the base. In one instance, I had to restart the whole process, and when I got to the renaming section, I just left the pre-filled camera name and clicked "next/continue," and then came back to change the name later once the process was fully complete. I've also had a similar hang occur with the app when it asks me to test the positioning during the setup, and again I just clicked "next/continue" to get all the way through the process and then come back and made adjustments later.
If the cameras aren't showing up on your app even though the lights on camera and base have displayed rapid blue flashing, I recommend (1) quitting and restarting the app, and if that doesn't work (2) logging out of the app, then quitting and restarting it, and logging back in. (If the cameras have been successfully added to your account, you should also be able to see them through the web portal, and if so, then the problem is just with the app on your phone.)

Yes, I did read your entire post & picked up on the point that you thought it was an iPhone issue since android worked. After I sent my post, I logged into Arlo on my laptop & tried from there. My last two cameras successfully synced from the laptop, so you were correct. Thank you so much for pointing out that this might be an iPhone issue!!!
For anyone else experiencing problems adding these older Arlo cameras while using an iPhone, try using another device. That should fix the issue.

Thank you for taking time to write your detailed response to my inquiry. I had already tried everything you suggested & had successfully installed 2 cameras, but was worn out from attempting it over & over on the last two cameras. I read another post that mentioned installing from another devise, so I jumped on my laptop & tried from there. Success! Apparently there is some sort of bug between iPhone & Arlo.
Thanks again!

Fantastic that you had success!
Arlo messed up big time, its been a loooong while since they know about this, and seems that they do nothing to fix the issue.
Since then i switched to eufy cameras, zero remote the battery for charging (solar panel charge the battery
the app is so much better, the responsive is 2000% better than arlo, and of course the picture quality…. Not even comparable to arlo.
im done with arlo.
they neglected their older customers and offer zero customer service.
eufy is owned by “anker” which is a huge company.
