On the details of the new Arlo Pro 2, I notice that when using the camera plugged in it also allows for Activity Zones + CVR - the question is that each of these statements is followed by "when plugged in and used indoors".

Does this mean that these options are only intended to be used when the camera is used indoors?

The relevant text pasted below:

Activity Zones
Highlight areas in your camera’s view where you want to receive motion and sound alerts. Available when plugged in and used indoors.

Optional 24/7 CVR
Upgrade to keep nonstop recordings in the cloud when the camera is plugged in and used indoors.

There is a outdoor rated plug for the PRO as an option, it should work on the PRO2 so you would not be limited to just indoors

Yes I know that, but so does Netgear so it confuses me why they would need to explicitly say "indoors".

Because not everyone will have an outdoor power supply. As supplied, the power supply is indoor only.
