Base station Internet LED (middle) won’t light up at all. I’ve tried a new router, and new ethernet cable and still no middle light.

No Internet LED means no connection to the router. STart by rebooting the router and base, in that order.

Check that the ethernet connectors have solidly "clicked" into place. If they have, then try a different port on the router. If that still fails, try a different ethernet cable.
If none of that works, then it is either the LAN switch in your router or a failed base. If you have another device that uses ethernet, you can use that to test the router.

Since you have a new (to you) base, perhaps it's as simple as the base is faulty. Do you still have the other base or did you have to return it?

Do you support these base stations anymore?
Just to clarify - this is a user-to-user forum, and neither @jguerdat nor I work for Arlo.
However, to answer your question: Arlo still supports this base station.

I’m answering both of your responses. I’ve tried all of that. The clicking, new ethernet cable, different ports, new router…other devices on the LAN switch work fine. I tried all of that before I started working with Arlo Support — still no green LED light in the middle.
Then either the router doesn't support fast ethernet connections (very unlikely) or the base is defective.
Probably faster and easier to exchange it with the seller than to try to access Arlo support.

I have a Wi-Fi hotspot called Arlo_VMB_…….
It's not really a hotspot. The base creates a closed wifi network. That's used to connect the cameras. So that part of the base is working.
BTW, did you check your router's attached device list? If the base shows up there, then perhaps the failure is just the LED. Still, if you can exchange it, I'd do that.
