END OF LIFE HAS ARRIVED

Im suddenly without ANY security cameras within a 2 second moment when my internet went out on Dec 22, 2024… as soon as our area had the WIFI up & running again, I was almost unable to reconnect to my smart hub (but FINALLY got it to work), then after HOURS trying to reconnect my cameras I went to the doorbell which instantly connected! Then I went from one camera to another, and after trying all 6 I have, I’ve concluded… THEY’RE DONE! These cameras will no longer link to ARLO, PERIOD. This is so unacceptable & so disappointing. If I wasn’t already planning to just switch companies all together, my wallet would really get hit now that I’ve acquired 6 cameras over a few years & use them all over my property & house.

It’s insane to think this company will now just ELIMINATE a perfectly good camera from the system, but it’s already done.

I thought I had until Jan 1, 2025 for this EOL date, but my EOL date came early.

**ARLO CUSTOMER RELATIONS**

If you’re out there, your customer here of 8 years will now purchase a TOTALLY DIFFERENT SYSTEM from a TOTALLY DIFFERENT COMPANY, UNLESS YOU WANT TO SHOW YOUR LOYALTY TO YOUR MOST LOYAL, FIRST CUSTOMERS!
We deserve some a discount/deal on a bundle of new cameras, since NONE of mine will work any longer, and my property & home is now in an insecure, unsafe state without any surveillance as I scramble to get my hands on a whole new set of cameras.

What a terrible feeling 😞

Not actually clear what the problem is. Please specify.

The EOL means your camera won't receive any firmware updates etc. but is expected to continue to work.

Please read the EOL statement carefully.

I think you must have some other issue. Hardware EOL for Arlo Pro 2 only means that they will not receive firmware updates, or any new features. Critical security updates will still be issued for another year (i.e. until January 2026). Free 7-day storage will continue even if they enter the EOL stage.

Interestingly, hardware EOL does not apply to the EU and UK.

Exactly the same issue - Arlo Pro 2 cameras with the free 7 day cloud storage.  Made the mistake of updating to new version of app, cameras no longer connect or are detectable.  Got hold of the help and was told as I have an end of life / legacy camera they cannot give me support BUT if I subscribe then they can, mmmmmm.  Create a problem the customer cannot overcome, solution, charge them for the fix!

The problem is that it seems, like my self.  Once EOL date has been reached or new version of app installed, you cannot see or use your Arlo Pro 2 cameras without a subscription.  Mine have worked great for 5 years, no problem.  One app update later and now I cannot even connect cameras was told by help I now needed a subscription!  Overnight I have a totally useless system and no way of accessing support as was told without a subscription they will not offer support for EOL hardware - long time user now going to have to spend 1k with a competitor!

Nope same issue here - over night perfectly working system and now nothing - tried all the tips and tricks available online but no way of accessing support through Arlo as hardware EOL!

Hmm, clearly something is going wrong with some setups, but it is not the same for all. I still have a 5 camera Pro 2 system working fine on the new app experience, without a subscription.

It is true and frustrating that there is no support route for EOL hardware without a subscription. So you either have to try fixing it yourself or pay for the help.

I would try a full factory reset on the hardware and possibly a whole new account. This should clear out any failed upgrade.

Is there a factory reset for the camera, or is it just for the base???

There is not a true factory reset for the cameras. Best you can do is to remove it from your account which unpairs it. Then remove the battery for 10 seconds. This should revert it to initial setup mode.

There is some risk here.  Quite a few users have reported that they could not add their legacy cameras back to their account after they removed them.
