I just upgraded the app software per Technical support and I can’t control the length of recordings and motion sensitivity.

We need all details as to what you've tried and what you see. What do you mean by you "upgraded the app software"? Did you just update to the latest app or did you migrate your account from the old user interface (UI) that uses Library to view recordings to the new UI that uses Feed? Have you rebooted the phone and reinstalled the app?

Ok I have the older Arlo go with the older software,it was working perfectly but will not let me invite other people to watch my camera

I can see your still on the old UI with the library option at the bottom of your screen. Do all of your granted access account see the Library or feed option at the bottom of the Arlo app?
