Won’t connect

I have recently purchased an essential xl spotlight camera to go with my other 2. I was told it was new but I am a bit wary now. It won’t connect to my phone. All I get on it is the blue led it flashes on for a few seconds and then goes out for a few second continuously. I’m not sure if the sync button is working as I can hold it in for more than 30 seconds and nothing happens. What are anyone’s thoughts. Thanks

Did you charge the camera until the blue LED solidly lit up on the camera?

I didn’t no. I left it over night and I thought that would be enough to sync it as I have a solar panel for it as well. When it’s charging it’s a fast flashing blue light is that correct?

No. The blue LED is on solid when fully charged (unless you've disabled that in the camera settings) but will not blink. A blinking blue LED generally means the camera has connected to your hub or router successfully but will blink only for a short time (a few seconds). This is continually flashing blue the goes off then on again. I red that it means it’s connected but it then won’t read the qr code on my phone. I have tried the factory reset but when I hold the sync button for more than 30 seconds nothing happens it just continues to flash the blue light

Assuming the battery is fully charged, I think your next step is to swap cameras at the store.

I will try again a leave it over and then if it’s not charged in the morning I think you’re right it will need to be changed. Thank you for your help
