Two way speaker not working

My two way speaker is not working. Or at least not in the conventional sense... I try speaking through the mic but nothing happens. But sounds played with my phone while the mic is on goes through. I can play a song on Spotify, or the sound of my notifications, and they go through the cameras. But talking through the mic won't work.
I have a Samsung S21+
Yes I've read all the forums related to this issue, and I've tried all their solutions. I'm at the point where I want to just return the camera. Please help me fix this.

It may just be phone specific...

Did the function work on your older phone?

I find it funny that you can play songs/other audio thru the phone but not voice from mic.

I'd uninstall and reinstall the app,  also verify the mic is allowed in permissions for the app.

I tried your solution just now. We have permissions enabled on the phones, and uninstall/reinstall does not work.
We just purchased these cameras and set them up on Friday. So no new phone.
I should add my wife and I have the same phone model, and therefore the same issue. The fact it can play audio from my phone, but not from the mic, implies a software issue of some kind.
