Hi. I have purchased an Arlo base station and it is connected, but when I try to connect my Essential cameras, it first wants to perform an update. While it’s loading—where it says it may take a few minutes—the process stops.

I have switched to 2.4 GHz and turned off my VPN. How can I fix this?

Can you try performing a factory reset on the camera from these steps here? You can also try onboarding from my.arlo.com on a computer.

I assume that the OP is talking about the firmware check on the base failing. Try rebooting the base to see if that helps.
