I do not get a motion recording through a essential camera connected to my Pro 2 hub ? Any suggestions? Only the pro 2 cameras record.

Did your 3 month trial to Smart expire? If so you need a subscription for cloud recordings on newer cameras. The Pro2 would still be on the 7 day free plan. You can still have local recordings to Hub/Base depending on the model.

No smart plan available here. So the essential will not record without a plan?

No recordings to the cloud but  you can record to the VMB4000 you listed when you set up local storage.
