Do I need a smart hub and if I do which one?

The essential cameras don't need a smarthub, as they can connect to your local wifi.

 

The smarthub does have some useful features - in particular, local storage.  Homekit integration also requires a smarthub.

 

If you decide to get one, I'd suggest the VMB4540.
