The batteries run out fast even if the device is not turned on.

If you're recording/live viewing a ton and/or have a poor signal to the camera this can happen. Tell us how many total minutes per day of recording and live viewing you are using and bring the camera closer to your router or hub, depending on how it's connected, as a test to see if that helps.

Make sure your NOT turning the  camera off, but put in Disarm mode ( where it uses very little power ).

As mentioned , if on battery, it all depends on usage.  Spec usage is 5 mins a day or less ( recording/viewing ).

Normal usage here near spec the batteries run a bit over 2 months, on the unused cameras it can be 4 months ( very little recording ).

Hi TomMac

Would you please explain why the camera should be disarmed instead of turning it off to save on battery life?

Much appreciated.

Turning off the camera is sort of a privacy mode and takes extra steps to do so... disarming really uses no more power then off. ( they will both ping to confirm connection )

Also esp if you share, only the primary account holder can access camera to turn on/off.
