My battery is not holding it's charge. I have had the camera for 3 years now.  Can I change the battery?  If so I do I go about it?

You say it's the Essential camera so that means the battery is not able to be removed. Sounds like you need a new camera, perhaps one that has a removable battery such as the Pro 3,4 or 5.

Thanks everyone I did discover this solution but not very happy for only a 2 years usage to have to change the the camera which cost me $170.00 Can.  Would have expected at least 4-5 years usage.
