This is my 3rd day of owning the new tilt outdoor camera and I am already having issues with the connection. I am losing my connection whenever every couple of hours. My Wifi connection is strong with the tilt camera which I find strange because it keeps disconnecting.

My fix for this is I unplug/plug the camera and it works from there.

This is so inconvenient.

Please help to resolve this.

This could indicate distance from your router or something at the cameras location is intermittently causing a connectivity issue. As a test, If you temporarily relocate the camera near your router without any physical obstructions, does it behave the same way?

Make sure you connect to 2.4 only. The 5 GHz leads to death. Arlo has no clue yet. But that's the issue.

Maybe you should be a consultant for Arlo since they couldn’t figure the issue out lol

Haha, I joined the beta community once. They made fun of me for suggestions a giant red panic button for the security system. Kind of like the President's nuclear button. Something that sits on a night table in a plastic case. So if there is an emergency when you are sleeping you don't have to mess with the App and two factor authentication when you are having a fire or heart attack. They told me to get a life alert. Lol so I left the beta testing group. But look up Ring's panic button. It's amazing. Arlo should have that. But good luck with the pan and tilt. It's such a cool camera when on 2.4.

Don't forget that 5 GHz. has a shorter connection distance. That could well be the reason 2.4 GHz. is working better (assuming there's nothing interfering with that signal).

5 GHz doesn't generate walls as well either. However my access point is only 5 feet away. It's stupid how they do not connect to the BaseStation or SmartHub either. Let those devices handle the data feeds. I give up on this camera completely. Probably going to return it. Not ready for primetime.

Penetrate walls. Sorry. Spellcheck had too much coffee this morning.

I'm going to try 1 final thing. I'm going to install an outdoor access point. If it drops freezes or something after that, it's a bad internal board or something to do with programming or the Arlo's infrastructure.

Might well be camera firmware or their cloud.  It's not unusual for their new cameras to have bugs at launch that need to be fixed.

FWIW, I haven't noticed drops with my PT outdoor camera, and have had no issues with livestreaming or the feed.  It's in a detached garage roughly 35 feet from the nearest Orbi mesh element.  But it is at the bottom of the device list, so I might have missed some drops.  Plus the fact that I am not seeing problems doesn't mean there aren't any.

Might be worth checking the wifi speed at the camera location using your phone (for instance using the Ookla speedtest app).  If you are getting a good connection quality, then it is probably not the wifi.

This would be quicker/easier than installing an outdoor AP (though of course you might want that anyway for other reasons).

FWIW, another possible cause here might be power (either due to the mains, the supplied charger+cable, or the camera charging port).

Stephen. I wouldn't take your advice even if my house were on fire. I honestly think you don't know anything about anything. Kindly steer clear of me.
