I just purchased a new essential 2k 2nd gen camera. It won’t connect to my VMB4000 base. The setup stops when the app says: searching for the device in our system. It will connect via WiFi, but I want to use the base. Any ideas on getting it to connect?

I recall that the 2nd gen products were not connectable to the arlo Base/hubs when they were first sold.

 

An update was later released to allow them to connect but not sure if it was sent out to all Base/hub models.

 

Have you tried updating the base?

Also make sure you are not using a friend account.

The base is fully updated. The camera description says it should work with my base.

I dont think i am using a friend account. I only have one account and am not sure what a friend account is.

Were you able to get the Essential to onboard onto the account?

I removed the base station from my account, reinstalled it, then the new camera paired to it.
