Hi experts,
I am currently using arlo pro 2 with base station and I bought a essential indoor cam which is functioning well when connecting to wifi directly.
However, when I try to connect my essential cam to the base station, it fails and said no arlo derive could be found.
Please help.

Did you remove it from your account before trying to connect it to your base?

Do you actually have the VMB4000 base (which is what you selected for model)?

I'm asking because VMB3xxx bases aren't compatible with the essential cameras. https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility

Hi both,
my base model is vmb4500, and I have removed already the essential cam from my arlo account but the base still cannot connect to my cam.

Maybe try the reset procedure for the camera (skipping the remove device step): https://kb.arlo.com/000062438/How-do-I-factory-reset-my-Arlo-wire-free-camera

I have pressed the sync button for 15 sec and 20 sec, but there was no a blinking amber light and the connection was failed.

There's 2 things here - a reset or onboarding. The reset may require a >15 second press but onboarding should just needs a brief press - holding it may cause problems. The instructions say to press it for one second.

What I mean was for the factory setting (15 and 20 sec) only.
I have pressed sync button for a sec after reset to factory setting
but it can still connect to the base station

What is the base showing when trying to pair?

when having a pairing, the base was showing a blue light as normal, while the cam showed a blinking blue light and turned to blinking amber light when it was failure.

joeyeung,

From your description it sounds like the issue is the camera has not successfully been factory reset. Make sure to charge the camera first and then attempt the factory reset as described in the reset article: https://kb.arlo.com/000062438/How-do-I-factory-reset-my-Arlo-wire-free-camera

Do you still experience the same behavior?
