I cannot get local recordings to appear on my ARLO app. I do not have a subscription but supposedly you can view recordings without one when you’re home on your WiFi network. I’ve taken all the proper steps. My app has the “feed” feature, not “library”. I have a formatted 2.0 FAT32 16 gb usb drive installed in my VNB4540r4 SmartHub. Both smartphone and ARLO hub are connected to the same WiFi network. All my cameras are set to record, I guess, there’s no specific setting for that for the cameras on the app. I have the “record locally” button turned on in my storage settings. I have “arm away” selected. I’ve noticed that when I trigger a camera with movement and get the alert. No storage is used up on my storage device, which is an indication that nothing is recording to it. Any answers ??

You are unable to view the backup storage recordings from the feed page. You can only download them to the mobile device via the base storage menu of the arlo app.
Manual recordings/snapshots are not available to the storage device.

Are the cameras connected via the smarthub (that is, not connected to your home wifi)?
If they are, have you tried a different USB drive? You might want something bigger (I use 128 GB myself).

@Rola007: This is not correct. There should be a "Local" tab on that page.
You should also be able to see them by selecting the smarthub from the devices page, and then selecting "Storage Settings".
Either way, you will need to download the recording before seeing the details, as there are no thumbnails.

Thx. Yes, the cameras are connected via the smarthub and I bought a new thumb drive to see if that was the problem. It wasn’t. I also rebooted my router and cycled power on and off for the smarthub. I also deleted the ARLO app from phone and downloaded a new one and signed in again. Still nothing. Too bad ARLO doesn’t have someone we could call.

Did you format the thumb drive in the smarthub?
Also try ejecting the drive from the app, and then connect it to a PC and look for recordings. That will help you figure out if this is a playback problem or whether it is a recording problem.

I was totally wrong. The cameras were not connected to the base station. They were connected directly to Wifi. Took a while to rectify that (very wonky) but problem solved.
