All motion on, receive gmail and push notifications but no phone call via IFTTT. No firmware updates indicated. My old Vuezone system still works
like a champ with IFTTT, but no joy with Arlo. Have 5 Arlo cameras, and IFTTT does not work with any of them. I have seen other posts referring to the same issue, but few suggestions as to how to solve. Any feedback appreciated. Have about two weeks to sort this out and send the cameras back to Amazon.
No point in having the system if it can't relay a phone call notification to me via IFTTT.

msw135morgan,
Which IFTTT recipe are you using to receive the phone call?

I also use IFTTT to receive a phone call when Alro motion is detected. It worked for a few weeks until a month or so ago. I tried deleting and re-installing IFTTT recipe (and used an alternative recipe) and neither is working.
Here are the recipes I am trying to get to work....
If Arlo detects motion, call my phone

jtz5,
I have tested these recipes and did not have a problem receiving a call when Arlo detected motion.
Are you still seeing this behavior? Consider changing your system to the default "Armed" mode rather than Geofencing and test to further isolate the issue.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried "Armed" & "Geofencing" and neither works now. I get the alert from within Arlo (both email and text message), but nothing from IFTTT. When I "check recipe" on IFTTT, it shows it properly being run.
I'm not sure what else to do at this point, but I have seen a few other posts mentioning IFTTT problems recently, as well.

I've got the exact same problem here.
Just got the Arlo today but really want to connect it through IFTTT so that i can play a song or whatever instead of push-notifications on my phone (I won't wake up from those 🙂 ).
Any solutions yet?

No solution on my end. I tried updating to the latest iOS iphone software and that didn't do anything, either. I do have the beta geofencing build, do you?
It worked for me for 3 days...everytime Arlo was triggered, I would get an automated phone call letting me know (and more importantly, waking me up). Then all of a sudden, it stopped working despite the Arlo alerts still working. That was about 3-4 weeks ago.

I'm on android here but that does not seem to help.
Tried both the geofencing as the everything on option.
Can't try it with the automated phonecall though because that only works in the US.
I'm receiving all the Arlo alerts but none through IFTTT, and i really wanted that!

Just wanted to chime in re: problem with IFTTT triggering. I'm attempting to use a recipe that turns on WEMO lighting when motion is detected on my Arlo camera. However, the recipe is not working. The camera notifies me of motion via email, but does not trigger the lighting. When I run the recipe check on IFTTT, the error log indicates that the problem is with the Arlo. I generated the recipe on Aug 18. Has anyone come up with a fix? The base station is running version 1.7.5_6178.

jtz5,
I am still unable to replicate any issues with the recipe mentioned above. I am able to receive phone calls when Arlo detects motion using that recipe.
If you are having issues using IFTTT, consider contacting the Arlo Support Team and open a case to further troubleshoot and ensure the recipe is set up correctly. If you have any additional questions/concerns feel free to private message me. I would be happy to help.

Thanks, James. I will submit a help ticket with Arlo. I updated the Arlo app today, deleted the recipes, disconnected the channel, logged out of Arlo app, then tried to do everything from scratch. No luck. The recipe shows it was "checked" appropriately, but no phone call.
I will post to this thread if I get a solution.

My case has been escalated to the development team. I will update this thread upon resolution.

I have deleted the recipe, disconnected the channel, removed the Arlo cameras and base station and re-did everything, but it is still not working. The Arlo tech said he was going to escalate this to the development team. I also updated my firmware before doing all of the above. I will post to this thread when I have another update.

Jeff - I have also tried all of the resets suggested by the arlo team. Still no luck with arlo motion triggering an action (turn on wemo lighting) through IFTTT. I have been able to arm the arlo system by turning on a wemo switch using IFTTT. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the development team can resolve the issue.

JamesC,
The arlo support team has been trying to figure this one out for the past couple of weeks. They have been very responsive to my issue.

JamesC-
The Arlo support team has been very responsive to my issue, as well. I actually tried creating another IFTTT recipe that would SMS text my cell phone when motion was detected and that recipe didn't work, either, so it's something with the Arlo/IFTTT connection. In fact, I received an email from IFTTT saying my recipe was automatically turned off (3-4 days after I created it). I have a feeling our issue is with access being granted to IFTTT within Arlo accounts; it does ask for access to be granted when I create an Arlo Channel in my IFTTT account, but I have a feeling it's not being correctly granted and that is the issue.

I'm also trying to trigger my wemo lights upon Arlo motion detection. It worked when I first created the recipe over a year ago, but then stopped working. I have tried everything including deleting all connections and reestablishing, updating apps, deleting recipes and creating then again, etc.... It's been close to a year that I have not been able to get it to work again. I used to recommed Arlo all the time, but can't if they can't connect to IFTTT anymore. I read this thread that started a while ago and I didn't see a fix. Has anyone had luck getting it to work again?

I have not had any luck getting IFTTT to work, I gave up on it. In fact, I even switched to the Arlo Pro system and that doesn't trigger IFTTT anymore, either. My situation is identical to yours...worked for a while, then all of a sudden stopped working. When I create recipes/Applets in IFTTT and then "check now" in the Applet, it shows everything ok, but it still doesn't ring to my iPhone when motion is detected (I even tried text to iPhone when motion is detected and nothing).
I'm not sure this issue will ever get resolved...

That's too bad. The recipe was very handy since the night time quality of the camera is not very good. But with the lights being turn on, the quality is vastly improved. I like the system overall, but not integrating with IFTTT is a pretty big oversight considering how much can be done with it. Luckily I only have three camera's so it won't kill me to replace Arlo with another system. I'm going to start researching other cameras. If anyone else has already done so, please let me know what you found.

After our discussion, I turned off my recipes again and turned them back on, and for some reason, my IFTTT is now working! I would try doing the same; not sure if a recent firmware update had anything to do with it, but mine is working again.

That's too bad. Like I said, it never worked again for me, then a few days ago, I had a firmware update and yesterday I went to IFTTT and turned off and then back on again my recipe "If motion is detected, call my cell phone." Now it's working.
Maybe try deleting recipes and re-installing them?
