If I create a mode and rule having a camera in garage as a trigger to turn on all other cameras in house and record for say 2 min, what happens after that 2 min video recording? do all the other cameras go back to other modes that were created for them to work, like if they sensed motion 1 min after they stopped recording that initial 2 min video, would they start recording again. I'm thinking of having door cameras activate all other cameras, but want them to be able to start recording on their own if and when they detect motion also.
You would have to create rules for each other camera as well, or they wouldn't trigger video recording if something happens in their field of view.
Make sure to have all rules that record video triggered from the same camera record at equal clip length, because for the duration of the recording all triggered cameras are blocked until the longest clip has completed recording.
For example, if you have a motion event on camera A record video on camera A, B and C, but you make the recording on camera A only 30 seconds long, but the recordings on cameras B and C 60 seconds, camera A would not record anything between seconds 30 and 60 even if a new motion event occurred in front of it, because cameras B and C had not finished recording yet, in effect blocking camera A.
Therefore, in order to avoid this “deadspot“ situation it is best to program all cameras triggered by the same camera to record at equal clip length.
