This is a possible suggestion (or two). I am a very new Arlo owner (just bought it yesterday) and I hope this was not already posted.

I now know the IR is what prevents the unit from performing motion detection through glass. Ok, I can live with that. However I neat feature might be to let an external camera that can detect motion cause another camera to also record.

For example, I will have one camera on my outside porch, but I have another indoors pointing at the same direction, just a different angle. It would be really cool if I could tell the indoor camera to record for x amount of seconds if the outdoor camera detects motion

An alternative to this would be to make an external adapter (something whose sole purpose is to look for motion), if it detects, it can tell camera 1 through whatever to record.

I

 Both have been post , One is possible , second is in the wanted/request area ( separate sensor module )

this one is possible already...

you can only have ONE MODE at a time, but but multi rules;

Cam A and B

In the first rule  have Cam A sense but record on Cam B, then second rule Cam B sense and record on B

if you want to try;

best I've done so far is with rules as follows;

First Rule; CAM 1/1 -  Select Motion is detected on camera 1 and to Record Video on camera 1.

Second Rule; CAM 1/2 - Select Motion is detected on camera 1 and to Record Video on camera 2.

Third rule; CAM 2/2 -  Select Motion is detected on camera 2 and to Record Video on camera 2.

Fourth Rule; CAM 2/1 - Select Motion is detected on camera 2 and to Record Video on camera 1.

It works well for me, these are inside cams with an open floor plan.  I get recording from both cams, front and back.

Yup, this is cool. I just setup the schedule mode, and I now trigger my second camera based of motion from my outside camera. What a wonderful feature!

I am totally lost in merry go rounds trying to contact support to suggest a feature.
Arlo are seemingly avoiding being contacted directly.

I think that on the home screen camera page should be a 2nd button that takes a still picture. Not just LIVE. This would be for each camera.

I dont know how to get this concept to the developers.
I suspect they give a razoo.

There are three ways to get in touch with Arlo support. Chat, web-form and phone. Did you try all three and none of them worked for you?

I just called support a couple of weeks ago and had one of my faulty cameras replaced in a week's time. Very responsive service.

You can already do that; start Live View and press the camera icon at the bottom of the frame. This will create a screenshot and save it in your library from where you can share or download it.

Oh, they care. Early last year a feature was requested to be able to have more than one camera record footage when triggered by the same motion event. This feature was implemented earlier this year and enhances the system significantly.

As suggested above, post your feature enhancement requests in the Arlo Idea Exchange. Better yet, it's likely that your idea was already posted by someone else, so make sure you search there first, then add your kudos to their idea. This avoids duplicate feature requests and reduces clutter.

For future posts it would be great if you could create a new topic and not add to an existing thread with an unrelated issue.
