Non Geofencing arming of cameras

My wife and kids are complaining about the geofencing. It is working well except that you often need to relaunch the app (iOS) and they are complaining of the battery drain this causes on their devices.

 

i am looking for a different way to arm the cameras, perhaps using my security system. We are an active household with 1 teenager and 2 college age kids with people constantly coming and going.

 

I believe I can use my security system with IFTTT to create a state variable. Can this be used to arm and disarm the cameras? I am new to both arlo and IFTTT.

We have a similar busy household and we use life360 to trigger the arm/disarm using IFTTT.

Works well for us.
