Hello,

When we download a record from the cloud it is given just a numbered file name.

This number means nothing to the user.

Will it be possible that the system will write automatically a more realistic name like :

name of the cam_yymmdd_hhmm.mp4

Like this it will be not necessary to rename the downloaded files.

Thanks

Gerard

This has been mentioned many time in the threads... search is your friend !

The file name is in EPOCH time, if you go here,   http://www.epochconverter.com/

put the file name in and out comes date and time in human speak.

Some d/l with diff OS's convert it automaticly, some don't

eine sehr komplizierte Art, die Dateien mit den Herstellungsdaten und -zeiten zu verbinden. Das machen andere benutzerfreundlicher. Das kann man doch hier auch erwarten. Danke schon jetzt.

How is this "solved"? Downloading files still stamps with the Epoch time and the user has to convert it?

You can always rename your files, and/or some browsers do d/l the file name with a normal dat/time

And what about photo files?

Is it possible to include date in file nomenclature? ecause now it is only img_9024 etc.

Dunno where you're seeing that naming - just tried it here and got 1492007656722.jpg, which is the epoch time as the filename.

The videos and photos must be automatically named based on some pre-configured prefix: cameraname-date/time - which should be based on the base station timezone.

Just like photos and videos from a camera have embedded EXIF information.

This epoch thing whatever brings back time at the time of download as far as I can tell - not the time that the video or photo was captured.

So I am not sure why someone thought this was "solved" - user having to jump through hoops (other than simply download) is not a solution.

Will try and see what happens with USB storage...
