Motion detector not working at all!

Just bought and installed one camera. While setting it up to view/record our driveway, it caught a car going by. We got the notification so all was good. However, now can't get it to record anything. It did record and notify when the camera was being taken down so the distance was about a foot. We have it set to 90% sensitivity, night vision, and monitor all. What are we doing wrong?

How far away is the motion you are attempting to detect? It sounds like the issue may be due to range.
