GeoFencing is working great.  I really love it.  My problem is when I am home and want to arm my cameras such as at night.  I select the Armed mode.  The cameras initially arm but then within a few minutes the cameras disarm (presumably because I am within the GeoFencing camera off GPS area).  I want to be able to use both GeoFencing and normal Armed features.  Help?

Seems to be an ongoing bug at the moment. Hopefully soon...

Agreed.

I would love to be able to "schedule" Geofencing.  I could have Geofencing on during the day and at xx:xx time have the system go to armed until xx:xx the next AM and go back to geofencing.

ideally, geofencing would just be an option when creating a schedule.

Thanks,

EVH

I don't know that it is an intuitive to setup as I would hope.

To make it work, it appears that you have:

  • the mode set to Geofencing
  • under Geofencing you
    • select Home as schedule and setup how you want it to record when at home (night for my example)
    • and Armed for away

it still does not appear to reset in the AM.  That is to say you have to change modes from Geofencing to another mode and back every AM.  So I think there is still an issue.

If you're trying to switch GF off and run another mode or the schedule, you can't. If GF is selected, only the settings under it will work. Same with any other mode or the schedule.

I don't know if that is accurate.  It appears you can.  Look at my post above on how I have it setup.

It works but you must change the mode off (armed and right back to GF) and back every morning to "reset" and it works all day.  For example, I have GF on but have my front door set to record all day.  At night, even if we are home, I have them all arm at 10:00pm.

You can have GF on and force a schedule - GF on during the day and arm the cameras at night - even if the device(s) is in the range for GF.  You can also have GF on and have a mode running at the same time.  My only issue is having to reset the mode once a day.

hope that helps - sorry if I am not clear.

I thik we're saying the same thing differently.  You can only have GF, schedule or another mode selected at any time.  However, using GF, you can use the schedule for, say, Home Mode and Armed for Away Mode, as you're using. There's no "reset" to it - you're either detected at home or you're not. If it isn't following your location, I can see that a "fix" would be to use a different mode and back to GF or whatever procedure you found to work.  It SHOULD be following your location and be using the schedule when you're home.  If it isn't, maybe you found a bug or maybe a reset of the whole GF process would be in order.

Edit:  Putzing a bit more, I tried what you seemed to suggest - that you can have GF and another mode enabled at the same time.  Not here.  Inside GF, you can enable a mode but you are using GF to do so.  At the level where you can select a mode, it's eithe GF or any other mode but not both.

Sounds like we are.

Not sure if it is bug or not.  I had to do the "reset" the last few mornings (change mode off and on GF) but this AM it worked fine so could be something with my setup.

Great feature!  I love that you can have multiple devices determining in or out of zone!
