My camera will record and alert me all the time for nothing but when a human is at my door, the camera doesn't record it. I've changed to sensitivity but then it goes off more. How do I make it record people and not phantom objects?

Phantom objects are things that move fast enough for the inherent lag in the system to not have enough time to start recording before they're out of sight.  Insects, birds, cars and even people cause this as well as moving branches/leaves or the time of day when the sun's IR reflects off objects.

 

To get best motion detection, review the appropriate FAQs on this subject and remember that motion should be ACROSS the field of view, not at the camera. Maybe posting a screenshot would be useful.
