I am on Shaw Internet. My app does not see the base station. Ran a test with shaw and found that the base station was pulling an IP address and working. Tried resetting the base station and no luck. I am running a 20 Mbps down load and 0.5 Mbps upload. I also have an external Mac wirless router so the Shaw modem is in bridge mode. Read the other comments on the same issue but can't understand why this is so difficult. Need some feed back.

Problem solved: I had a voice over internet phone system, an external Wi-Fi and I was also trying to plug in the Arlo base station. This was taking up 3 I.P. addresses and I only had two available. I disconnected the voice over internet phone system and was able to see the Arlo base station.

Bridged mode might be an issue but that's something you'd have to work out. For starters, temporarily simplify your network and try again. Depending on the modem, try connecting the base directly to it. If not possible (there's usually only one port), we'd need to know the models of the modem and router and settings. If all works fine with the simplified network, you're at least narrowing in to the issue. It may be a setting in the modem or router that's causing the problem or even the version of said devices. Firmware updates for those devices may or may not help.
0.5Mb/s uploads is a problem - spec is a 1Mb/s minimum. I wouldn't think that would prevent you from seeing the base but video uploads could be an issue with lower quality or even failure.
