The two default MODEs are ALL ON and ALL OFF
RULES control what the cameras do; record to where and how long and email....
MODES control what cameras are turn on for that named mode
All MODES will contain all of your cameras, the only diff is if the camera is active or not ( green check mark at end of camera is on, black is off )
SO an ALL MOTION ON mode would have a green check mark at the end of each listed camera
( ALL MOTION OFF = all black check marks )

I am switching over from Vuezone cameras to the Arlo and have found that I am unable to turn on/off individual cameras. It looks like the default is they are either all on or all off motion. I used to be able to go into each camera and hit a slider switch to turn the motion on/off. There are times when I do not want all my cameras on motion. Is there a way to do this and what are the steps I need to follow to accomplish this.

What you need to do is created a few more MODES.
You currently have all on and all off as defaults.
Got to settings, modes and click on ADD. Give it a name like CAMERA A , then make sure all the cameras NOT WANTED on have a black check mark at end.
So if you have 3 cams A / B / C, and only want A to be active then only A will have a green check mark ( b and c will be black/off )
Hit save and exit.... Now you have 3 modes, ALL ON - ALL OFF - CAM A ONLY
Use the new mode like you use the others now....repeat as more combos are needed.
PS.. Only ONE mode can be active at a time, the new mode over writes the previous

That is very helpful. Sounds like extra work in the beginning as you create various scenarios for how you want your cameras to work but once you get them all then it's just a matter of selecting the one that fits your needs at that time. I have to say the Vuezone way was much easier. Thanks again.

I agree the old system was much easier, just slide the green switch over, its more complicated now, why change it was perfect before, some smart a** stuffed it up for us.
