Yes I am having same frustrating issue as other users. Camera is very slow to detect motion and start recording. There is about a 5 second delay, and is not performing the task I purchased this for, which is to detect motion and record. I have the latest FW version as of this writing (2.1.1.766_13329)  all cameras have fresh batteries. I have even alternated cameras,re-booting cameras,re-booted the modem base station, set each camera with the most sensative motion detection, and have moved the cameras in different locations. I have two cameras outside under the eves of my house. I have one camera facing North and one facing South. They both should capture a moving object from both directions, they both have about a 5 second delay, when they record. This is worthless to me. I hope a new FW version remedies this problem soon, or else I will return the product.

ShanOH,

Arlo Wire-free cameras hibernate to conserve battery life while not in use (not detecting and recording motion). This can sometimes result in a slight delay allowing the camera to wake up prior to recording.

Other times, positioning can be an issue with motion detection. It can sometimes take some trial and error to find optimal conditions for your Arlo system.

Take a look at the tips in this article to be sure your cameras are positioned for best performance: How do I optimize my Arlo Wire-Free camera’s motion detection performance?
